- Thanks for your advice. I downlaoded the latest drivers form the Formac site, but the problem remailed. I then called Formac here in the UK, and was told that my Studio TVR was too lond to work with Tiger, and I would have to buy a new one.

I have used both the Formac Studio TVR and the ADS Instant DVD for Mac MPEG2 encoder. In my experience, the key advantage of the Formac device is when the source is video tape which is old and damaged.

Ntfs Driver For Mac
I bought my Studio TVR several years ago and it was fine running under Mac OS9. I have since bought a DV video camera so haven't needed the Formac but I recently decided to transfer all my analog tapes to a hard drive. First I couldn't get the new 3.6.2 software to launch kept getting error 01 (tried on my Mac G4, MacBook and iMac all running OS 10.5.5). Tried an external power supply but still didn't work. I then decided to try just in iMovie and was able to import several hours of video. The picture was fine and the audio was fine as I was importing, however when I tried to play back, there was a huge digital noise over the track. I traced this down to the video input. After some reading on the Formac site I see that I may need a firmware update but have no idea where or how to get this. I was previously registered but was unable to log in to the site. I have tried writing the company twice in the past week but have gotten no replies. After reading this thread I see I am not alone! It seems like a hopeless case and a huge waste of money since there appears to be NO support. Does anyone have any recommendations for a similar product. I don't really want the TV part, I just want to do good quality transfers of my old video tapes.
