This page contains the list of device drivers for Hcl Infosystems P5KPL-VM/S. To download the proper driver, first choose your operating system, then find your device name and click the download button. The onboard video adapter was properly configured using nvidia-xconfig after installing the latest drivers from a repository, the sound card and the network adapter work perfectly (the second one is connected to a gigabit LAN).

I can not manage to install Catalina on this legacy Asus machine that runs Mojave fine. When the installer boots up, DiskUtility does not see the internal hard-drives, neither the master SATA one or the the slave, ATA one. I have discussed this already on the Clover section with Slice, he told that some kext seems to have changed from Mojave to Catalina, he told me to use IOReg. Since then, I have postponed my work on Catalina due to the issues regarding the Mojave supplemental updates.
I have decided to start a new topic in here, due to visibility reasons and some new turn. The latest version of the dosdude1 patcher for unsupported Macs, discussed on Macrumors forums, patches the installer so that DiskUtility sees the internal hard-drives, I am able to install Catalina but, on first boot, the OS gets into a kernal panic with the message ”still waiting for root device”. I have searched online for this error, I have found Information regarding previous macOS versions with solutions that seem to have little to no relevance for the present issue.
Before installation finishes, I receive a message like ”Installation finished on Macintosh HD Data”, instead of ”Installation finished on Macintosh HD”. I admit this split between the two in Catalina still confuses me, perhaps this is how it was suppose to be? Perhaps something that was suppose to end up on Macintosh HD ends in Macintosh HD Data?
I admit the DVD-Rom and hard-drives are wired kinda of weird by some guy in a PC service, he said this is the optimum combination, something the ATA hard-drive is slave to the DVD-Rom. Perhaps this causes confusion into Catalina? On Mojave this configuration was fine.
Probably the solution suggested by Slice is the best, to replace one or more kext from Catalina with the Mojave versions of them. I do not know yet how to identify and replace them. If any other solutions seem possible, I am open to them.

      Hi everyone.
I have HP 15-da0xxx series laptop. i got macos mojave installed on it. but I was trying to get my intel graphics working but i couldn't change dmvt preallocation.
So I updated the bios (unfortunately). And since then i could not boot any version of clover.
I tried two versions that were working and even an installer that worked before is not working:
I searched alot about the error and found nothing relared to macos or hackintosh.. would it be solved by patching the dsdt?
      Any suggestions people ?

      My Laptop:
      ASUS ZenBook UX330UAR
      8GB RAM / 256GB SSD
      Intel i5-8250U
      1920 x 1080 (UHD 620)
After using this guide to setup my laptop as a Hackintosh (macOS 10.14.6), every once in a while it'll result in the screen flickering, and usually the intervals between the flickering get smaller and smaller to the point where sometimes the screen just panics. I tried injecting my EDID and setting my SMBIOS to iMac18,1 but none of those defeated the dreaded flickering.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: I'd also note that this does not happen with Linux nor Windows so it is a macOS issue not a hardware issue.

ASUS P5KPL-VM No DSDT required?
I have acquired an old ASUS P5KPL-VM system
CPU: E6550 2.33Ghz C2D
3Gb DDR2 667Mhz
EVGA GT 240 512Mb - graphics enabler yes
ACL 662 Audio
Attansic L1 Ethernet
I was able to boot and install Lion via the 8Gb USB tonymac method
Then ran multibeast for lion
System boots, shutdown, restarts all fine
I had to find a Attansic L1 kext which works from another site and also found a special made voodoo kext for the sound.
So everything 'is working'
Am I still required to create a DSDT?
I only ask as under system profiler where it lists my Sata devices it does not specify the Intel Controller ICH7 - its just blank and then lists the Sata device. Again everything appears to work fine so is it purely cosmetic?
I did try to create a DSDT but cant get it to work.
I tried extracting from Windows (Aida 64) and Mac (MacAISL and DSDT Editor and iASLME)
I could extract a acpi from Windows - rename it to .aml and then open it in Mac DSDT editors and try add ICH7 patches etc but when compiling it would show errors and refuse to fix them. If I do not add any patches I could compile and then export a file ok. But when I ran multibeast with DSDT support nothing changes - system profiler still doesnt show ICH7 under SATA.
I guess I can just use it as is.
(this is my 3rd Hackintosh, but the 1st two were specific builds recommended on this website so everything work without hassle)
