Problem: After install Windows Sever 2016 on my Mac Mini which was bough in early 2012, I can connect it with my TV through a HDMI cable and watch video but cannot hear the sound. There is no sound on the speaker either.
Solution:
- There is some problem with the drivers available for Intel 965 X3100 chipset. In both default drivers with Windows 7 as well as the driver available on Intel site, the problem arises.

Step 1: After installing CirrusAudioCS4206x64 , I can hear sound from the built-in speaker of Mac Mini
Step 2: After installing intel-hd-graphics-3000 driver for 64-bit Win7/Win8 downloaded from Intel website, I can see a “TV (Intel Display Audio” driver in device manager and the HDMI no sound problem on my TV was solved.
If you Mac Mini is not a product of mid-2011, you can check out the graphics card model from the “Integrated video on Intel-based Macs” https://support.apple.com/en-sg/HT204349. Or you can figure it out by checking the chipset model of the mother board first and then figure out the video card model.
