1. When defining a device class for VXA-2 drives, use
- devtype=8MM
- format=<DRIVE | VXA2 | VXA2C>
- Example:
DEFine DEVclass devclassname DEVType=8MM FORMAT=VXA2 .....
DEFine DEVclass devclassname DEVType=8MM FORMAT=VXA2C .....
- VXA2 - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the VXA2 recording format. This format results in a cartridge capacity of 80 GB when using VXA-2 V23 data cartridges.
VXA2C - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the VXA2 recording format with compression. This format results in a cartridge capacity of 160 GB when using VXA-2 V23 data cartridges.

5. Exabyte VXA-2 and IBM VXA-2 drives report drive serial numbers.
6. Automatic cleaning via the CLEANFREQuency=ASNEEDED option is supported with TSM version 5.4.0 and later.
